BURN

EVERY1 Movement

Empowering the local church to walk in unity to do the great commission & walk in God's calling.

Every tribe. Every tongue. Every nation.
What kind of brand this is

A movement brand.

EVERY1 lives on phones and in other people's feeds. It carries the loosest rules of the three, the strongest single glyph, and assets designed to be given away. The full-bleed Midnight, the footage, and the pace are the right instincts; the participation layer below is what makes it a movement.

Identity

What this door owns.

The three doors are told apart by temperature and proportion, not by three separate palettes, so the house still reads as one house. This is what EVERY1 Movement owns.

GroundMidnight, full bleed wherever it can be.
TypeParchment on Midnight. Ember for links and buttons. DM Sans throughout; the serif only for scripture.
FlameThe full tenth. This door owns the fire.
RegisterThe fire itself. Loudest, fastest, most footage.
AvatarThe E1 icon on its own plate: reversed on Midnight for launchers, profiles and every avatar, and two-tone on White for the browser tab, whose chrome is light on most systems. One mark, and the plate follows the surface.
Handle@every1movement, recorded in the Channels section of this guide.
EndorsementNone. This door stands on its own, which is the one recorded exception to Law III. Do not add the parent line or lock the parent mark to it.
Place in the process

Why this door exists.

BURN is the second movement. A cleaned heart catches fire, and fire starts fire. This door is not an event, it is a lifestyle: ordinary believers sharing Jesus where they already live, work, and study. Membership is simple, and it is measured by whether you have shared Jesus with someone recently.

The participation layer

Assets designed to be given away.

A movement's identity lives on its people's own feeds, or it is not a movement. These assets exist to leave official hands.

  • The 1 is the display mark, and the E1 icon is the app icon. The mark leads with the numeral and the numeral is published on its own, as a display mark and as the shape photography is cut into. Where a square is needed and a lockup will not read, that is the E1 icon: the launcher, the installable web app, the favicon, and every profile picture. The two do different jobs and neither substitutes for the other.
  • Share cards ride along. Every official EVERY1 surface ships with a version a member can post themselves: square and vertical, footage behind the scrim, one line of Parchment type.
  • The loosest rules in the house. Official surfaces follow this guide. What a member does with the badge on their own feed is not audited; it is the movement working.
  • The icon comes first. The app and the activation platform follow the YouVersion model, so the E1 icon carries the whole identity on its own. It was drawn before the app was built, not after, and it is published here already.
The 1 as a mask

Photography cut into the numeral.

This door’s loudest move, and the one thing it does that no other door does. A photograph is cut into the shape of the 1 rather than set beside it, so the mark and the picture are the same object.

One believer greeting another at the front of the tent.
  • The shape is the published file. every1-numeral.svg, never a redrawing and never a font character. It is a mask, so it takes no ink and is never recoloured.
  • The photograph still obeys every rule. Documentary capture, consent before the shutter, a caption where it is published. A shape does not exempt a picture.
  • It holds a photograph and nothing else. Never type, never a logo, never another mark. No outline, no shadow, no rotation.
  • One per view. Used twice on a page it stops being a signature and becomes a pattern.
In use

What it looks like built.

Design mockups, not the record. Nothing here is a photograph of an event, and none of it may be published as one.

The EVERY1 app sign-in screen: the horizontal lockup reversed on Midnight, an Ember primary button, and the vision line at the foot.
The app. Ember carries the action, never Flame: white on Flame is 3.3:1 and fails.
An EVERY1 social profile and grid, the E1 icon as the avatar.
Social. The E1 icon is the avatar, because a lockup in a circle is unreadable.
Six country lockups: USA, Nigeria, Uganda, Brazil, India and the Philippines.
Country lockups. Every country carries its own flag; USA is the one exception.
EVERY1 shirts, a banner and lanyards carrying the country lockups.
The activation kit. Shirts, banner, lanyards.
For everyone outside the team

This door has its own front door.

Partner organisations carrying EVERY1 at a conference do not need this guide, which is written for the house. They need the mark, the room it wants, and the short list of things that break it. That is published on its own domain at brand.every1movement.com, built from this same repository so the two cannot disagree, and carrying its own copies of everything so nobody is ever sent to the parent’s domain to fetch a logo.

A new country

Drawn, not generated.

A country lockup carries its country’s name as outlined type, so the build cannot compose one. Each is drawn.

  1. They come from the source file. New country lockups are made in the EVERY1 Canva file, canva.link/saa5nitous3vxts, which is where every mark on this page came from.
  2. The bar carries the country’s flag. Its colours are the flag’s, which is the recorded exception to the six-colour palette. USA is the single exception to the exception: its bar is Flame, White and Midnight, because the flag is close enough that a true red and blue reads as a mistake.
  3. A segment must survive its ground. A black or Midnight segment disappears on Midnight. On a dark ground it lifts, and the published files already do this.
  4. It arrives through the drop zone. Put the export in assets/logos/_inbox/, promote it, and it is cut in three inks with its clear space and minimum size recorded. Email brand@theword.world.
The ground in use

Documentary capture, from the record.

Real moments from real ministry. Nothing stock, nothing staged, nothing generated. Every published photograph carries a caption in the record register.

Dates come from the capture record. The location is recorded as Sanga, Mbarara, Uganda in the capture folder and is pending confirmation against the official ministry record, so it is stated here and not yet frozen into the guide.

The capture brief

What this door still needs shot.

Today all three doors draw from one conference, so the three guides read as three views of one event. Three ministries need three libraries. These are the shots this door records next, and the brief is recorded as a gap in the asset record.

  • One-to-one, away from any stage. Two people and a Bible: workplaces, campuses, doorways, bus stops.
  • The handoff. A believer giving something: a Bible, a meal, their time.
  • Vertical first. Every key moment captured 9:16 alongside the horizontal frame, because this door is watched on phones.
The mark

One word, and the 1 that leaves it.

Heavy caps with the numeral drawn as its own shape, standing at a quarter again the cap height of EVERY and carrying the only Flame on the mark. The 1 is the same drawing in every form, which is what lets it leave the wordmark and still be the movement. Every form is vector, so it scales without limit and recolours by changing one fill value.

Horizontal lockup
Horizontal lockupThe default. The name with MOVEMENT beside it, which is what makes it a movement rather than a word.
Horizontal, reversed
Horizontal, reversedMidnight grounds and scrimmed footage, which is where most of this door's work lives.
Bare wordmark
Bare wordmarkThe name alone, for a surface that already says what this is: a shirt front, an app header, the second mention on a page.
Vision lockup
Vision lockupThe whole promise in one mark: the verse above, the name, and what it leads to below. Banners and backdrops. Never small.
Promise lockup
Promise lockupThe name and the promise without the verse, for where the vision lockup is too tall.
The E1 icon
The E1 iconTwo characters and no words. The avatar, the app icon, the lanyard, the sticker.
The 1
The 1The numeral alone. A mark at small size, and the shape photography is masked into.
Country lockup
Country lockupOne per country. USA's bar is brand colours; every other country carries its own flag.
Country lockup, reversed
Country lockup, reversedUganda, with the black segment lifted to white so the flag survives a dark ground.
One colour
One colourEmbroidery, engraving, and newsprint. The numeral collapses into the word.
Set in DM Sans at weight 900, converted to outlines. The mark is artwork, not live text, so it never needs the font installed and never reflows. Do not re-set it in another face, do not stretch it, and do not redraw the numeral by hand. No form carries an endorsement line and none should be added: this door stands on its own, which is the recorded exception and the reason the mark reads the way it does. If a size or colour you need does not exist, request it.
Channels

Where this door is found.

One label per platform, read the way an ingredients panel is read. This door opens an account only on the platforms its kind of brand needs, so no channel goes quiet. Anything not listed is carried by the parent, whose own channel facts live in Brand Guide §12.

Rules that differ from the parent

Where this door departs.

Everything in the Brand Guide applies here. These are the points where EVERY1 Movement is deliberately not the parent.

  • Midnight ground, full bleed. This is the only door that runs dark by default. Footage fills the frame wherever the layout allows.
  • Flame to the full tenth. The parent's ceiling, used fully. It still never carries text: Ember does that job.
  • Most footage, least chrome. Motion carries this door. Where a still would do for CLEAN or TRAIN, EVERY1 uses the clip.
  • DM Sans, and the serif only where the parent speaks. Every headline, label, button and line of body on an EVERY1 surface is DM Sans, the family the mark is drawn in. The parent's serif appears here only for scripture, set in DM Serif Text under the parent's scripture rule. DM Serif Display is never set on this door: a serif headline on an EVERY1 surface is the parent's voice, not the movement's.
  • This door is the recorded exception. EVERY1 carries no endorsement line and no parent lockup, on the YouVersion model: the movement, the app, and the activation platform are joined by people who have not yet heard of the house behind them. Law III stands for every other door. Nothing else about this guide is waived.
